I bought three bottles of this wine from the website www.bidforwine.co.uk/auctions/show/33868 for £21.50.I had also bought some of the 1999 vintage which I enjoyed.Faugeres is an AOC for red,white and rose wines from the area around the village of that name about 10 miles north of the town of Beziers.Before 1982 it was a part of the Coteaux de Languedoc AOC. There are south facing slopes,a schist soil which is particularly good from the point of view of drainage and a Mediteranean climate.Domaine Leon Barral [www.domaineleonbarral.com ]was started in 1993 by Didier Barral who named it after his grandfather.He has 30 hectares and operates on biodynamic principles.The wine consists of 50% carignan,30% grenache and 20% cinsault.I had my wine at the weekend with my lamb stew and enjoyed it as much as the 1999..Like the 1999 and many southern Rhones it has a structured and reserved feeling and yet it is full of fruit and it is extremly drinkable with soft tannins.In short this is a superb wine
