Domaine le Roc la Folle Noire d'Ambat 2009

Member Review by Christy Canterbury MW:

Deep red ruby with black cherry color in the core. Damp forest floor, crunchy red fruit and animal pelt spring from the glass. With time in the glass, menthol surfaces. The structure starts and finishes firm due to the bright acidity, but it is relaxed by the soft mid-palate. Between these two opposites are the moderate tannins, which give the wine a mildly grainy texture. 13% abv
