I bought four bottles of this wine for £30.50 from the website www.bidforwine.co.uk/auctions/show/41938.Vacqueyras is a Southern Rhone Appellation created in 1990 for wines produced around the village of that name about 10 miles east of the town of Orange on the banks of the River Ouveze,a tributary of the Rhone. Most production is red although there are a few roses and whites.Domaine le Clos des Cazaux has been owned by the Archimbaud/Vache family for several generations. The oldest part of the building in Vacqueyras dates back to the 12th century and was once owned by the Knights Templar hence the name of this particular cuvee and the picture on the label. The wine is a 50/50 grenache/syrah blend.I started my bottle last night with my gammon supper and I thought it superb. There is plenty of blackcurrant/blackberry/plum type fruit there and a slight spicy aftertaste and there are some soft and mellow tannins. In short this is a first class wine
