Domaine la Tour Boisée Rosé Blend Minervois Rosé 2005
From the beginning, this wine makes its presence known. It has a prominent, earthy nose, with berry and anise notes. 30 minutes after decanting the wine opens in a mix of juicy cranberry, spice, caramel and plum with peppery note. When you open the bottle, the taste is quite astringent and puckery, but after breathing it gains roundness and becomes almost silky. Extra breathing time further rounds up the flavor too, but some bite still remains in the wine’s long, well sustained finish. I highly recommend this Languedoc with serious game (wild boar) or other heavy red meats.

This wine is made from 30% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 30% Carignan and 10% Cinsaut grapes. It has a prominent nose, with berry, anise, spice, and caramel notes. On the palate it's flavors meld with a nice acidity to form a balance between sweet cranberry and pepper. The puckery acid and bold flavors make for complex and balanced wine.
