Domaine la Millière Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

92 points Robert Parker: The brilliant 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is a sexy-styled wine, especially for this structured, masculine, and somewhat restrained and backward vintage. This is full-bodied opulence with sweet tannins, low to moderate acidity, and gorgeous levels of plum, fig, black currant, and sweet cherry fruit intermixed with some smoked meat and lavender. This is a beauty of layered opulence and luscious texture. Drink it over the next 12-15 years. (Oct 2007)

Domaine La Millière:
Close by the ancient city of Orange, Domaine La Millière is located in the northern part of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation in Cabrières. Nestled amidst unspoilt nature where the vine is queen, La Millière is home to the fifth generation of a family in which the profession of winegrower has been passed down from father to son.

Lush red color with a strong spicy nose. Full-bodied leathery but fruity flavor with a wonderful silky and buttery finish. Everything holds together nicely. A little more adventurous than a typical Rhone Blend. Extremely enjoyable.
