Domaine la Millière Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes 1995
Robert Parker (Wines of the Rhône Valley): The Cuvée Vieilles Vignes is made from 90-year-old vines, of which 70% are Grenache, and the rest Cinsault (15%), Mourvèdre (10%), and Syrah (5%). The vinification practiced is traditional, with no destemming, and an upbringing in small oak casks and larger oak foudres for 18 months prior to bottling. (1997)
Close by the ancient city of Orange, Domaine La Millière is located in the northern part of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation in Cabrières. Nestled amidst unspoilt nature where the vine is queen, La Millière is home to the fifth generation of a family in which the profession of winegrower has been passed down from father to son.
