Winemakers Notes

Tasting Notes: The wine is a blend of 65% Grenache, 25% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah. Parker, A sensational blend, boasts a dense purple color along with a gorgeous nose of creosote, kirsch, blackberries, licorice, and hints of smoked herbs and roasted meats. The wine possesses fabulous ripeness, fresh acidity, full body, and layers of both flavor and depth. It is a remarkable effort.

The 2007 Cotes du Rhone Cuvee Romaine, a custom cuvee for importer Eric Solomon made from 60 to 90-year old vines, is a joint project of Solomon and the Bernard family that owns the wonderful Gigondas restaurant, Les Florets, and the brilliant oenolo... Robert Parker. A Proprietary Blend wine from Rhone in France. 2007 Domaine la Garrigue Cotes du Rhone Cuvee Romaine 750ml

Really deep deep purple red. A little funky barnyard with a bit of earthiness upfront but this one's been open for a few days so who knows.Chocolate, blueberry, and pepper are all present. Pretty full body which opens up after it's been open for a while. Better night 2 than night 1.Must try at this price point.

Easily the best value wine I've had in quite a while. What a mouthfeel! Feels like liquid velvet it's so smooth. As the other reviewer wrote, a nice hit of barnyard mixed with black fruit. An excellent Quality-Price-Ratio wine--if you can find it.
