Domaine Joblot Givry Premier Cru Clos de la Servoisine 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

"The 2010 Bachelet Bourgogne rouge was showing lovely potential at the time of my November visit, offering up a complex and very pure nose of red and black cherries, a touch of dark chocolate, a lovely base of soil and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is medium-full fresh and beautifully focused, with a very good core of pure fruit, tangy acids and lovely length and grip on the gently tannic finish. A lovely example..." JG 12/11 "The 2010 Bourgogne is classy, energetic and beautifully focused. A ripe, almost exotic bouquet leads to blackberries, blueberries, licorice and tar. The Bourgogne is plump, juicy and flat-out delicious, especially for a wine at this level. I loved it..." WA 02/12 "Outstanding, top value: A notably pure and ripe nose of black cherry and pungent earth aromas leads to delicious, intense and solidly complex middle weight flavors that possess relatively fine tannins and a lovely and balanced finish. This is excellent for its level and worth a look..." BH 01/12

Cherry and stone nose with black raspberry, nutmeg and cocoa. Vibrant and sappy on the palate with intense fruit. Red berry and cherry. Deeply concentrated. Notes of bacon and smoke with smoked meat, salt and wet stone. Purple flowers on the finish. Nice! 91 pts. 12/1/12
