Domaine Jessiaume Santenay Rouge les Gravieres Premier Cru 2015

External Review:

Domaine Jessiaume has a history that dates back to 1850. The new owners, the Murray family have revitalized and modernized this venerable and historic estate located right in Santenay. Because of their history in the region they have been able to acquire some of the very best vineyard parcels including the largest piece of the famous Premier Cru Graviers vineyard (5 acres). Hence, this is a signature wine for the estate. The grapes are carefully sorted and de-stemmed. Then after a cold soak the ferment over a 2-3 week period. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for 12-15 months. 20% new oak is used. The Wine Spectator scored it 90 points saying "This pure red is taut and mineral-driven, with strawberry and cherry flavors lurking in the shadows and a long, chalky aftertaste. Best from 2017 through 2024. 526 cases made."

Domaine Jessiaume has a history that dates back to 1850 and Marc and Pascal Jessiaume are still the winemakers. The new owners, the Murray family have revitalized and modernized this venerable estate located right in Santenay. The Wine Spectator said "Full of dark black cherry and blackberry notes, this is rich and smoky, turning less generous as it crosses the finish line, with a firm, crisp ending. Best from 2014 through 2021." On Sale!
