Drank at Porteno, Surry Hills. found it very good. Fruit forward, quite easy drinking
What a nice surprise! I just found this wine choice today and I am thoroughly pleased. I only want to drink wine from organically grown or biodynamically grown grapes and this is one of the best I've come across. It's complex, smooth and lingers nicely in the mouth.
Just returned from having had the most delicious meal at Casino House Restaurant, nr Clonakilty/Kinsale west Cork, Ireland (a must go to restaurant) and had a fabulous bottle of Jean Bousquet Malbec Reserva 2007. A fab organic wine. Highly recommended. One to try. I have selected this one for the red at my 40th b'day dinner at Casino House in August!!!!

Eye | Opaque violet, almost black color typical of top quality ArgentineMalbec.Nose | Intense rich aromas of blackberry fruit with spicy black pepper notesand blackcurrant.Mouth | Ripe plum and chocolate flavors with a very soft, supple mouthfeel.Excellent structure and length.
The 2007 Malbec Reserva is purple-colored with a brooding bouquet of violets and black fruits. Chunky and slightly rustic on the palate, the wine does not lack for fruit. Layered and rich but lacking complexity, this will satisfy the senses more than the intellect. Drink it over the next 5ndash;6 years.
Tight, dark aromas of tar, leather and meat outmuscle the semi-herbal berry scents that come later. The palate is full, structured and grabby, with prune, black licorice and pepper flavors. A ripe, full-bodied wine with a chunky finish. Good Malbec with 15% Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah mixed in.
Good ruby-red. Aromas of currant, dark raspberry and mocha. Sweet, pure berry and mocha flavors are complicated by a crushed fruit character and a whiff of smoked meat. Densely packed but not a bit hard. Finishes with ripe, dusty tannins and lingering traces of bitter chocolate and tobacco.

Frenchman Jean Bousquet had a winery in Carcassonne before moving to Argentina 15 years ago. He purchased his land in 1997 and Domaine Jean Bousquet's first harvest was in 2002. His vineyards are certified organic and the wines are all estate bottled. Current production stands at 100,000 cases with 30% going to the USA.
Domaine Jean Bousquet has two notable values, a Malbec and a Chardonnay, listed in the Best Buy chart at the end of this report. A modest step up the price scale is the 2006 Malbec Reserva sourced from estate vineyards. It was aged for 8 months in French oak. Red violet in color, it has an enticing nose of cedar, leather, pencil lead, and black cherry. Medium-bodied, on the palate additional notes of mineral, blackberry, and chocolate emerge. Smooth textured, forward, and tasty, it can be enjoyed over the next 6ndash;8 years. It is an outstanding value in Malbec.
Dark, with plum and fig notes, this has a brawny hint underneath, with briary tannins and notes of black licorice and fruitcake that linger on the finish. Drink now through 2008.
