Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie 2006
Editorial Reviews for Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie
This is still very open with ripe orchard fruits, dried herbs that recall tobacco and sizzling bacon exploding from the glass. Perhaps a bit sweeter than Jamet of the past but with great intensity and force on the nose. In the mouth there is the immediate impact of the highish acidity. With air this rounds out well and reveals more than enough fleshy, blackberry, boysenberry, black olive tinged fruit to support the structure as the tannins embed themselves well. I can see this improving for some time and it is an excellent Jamet but best to keep hands off for 3-5 years. 2010-2022 92pts
A bit of wet dog greats the nose but the core of juniper and olive tinged black fruits is deep and broad. Delicious in the mouth with a bright freshness and excellent depth. The balance is impeccable with very fine tannins lurking just beneath the skin of taut fruit. Long and with a powerful finish that builds on the richness of the mid-palate. This is still young but just about to turn the corner into peak drinking 2010-2020 93pts
tasted with broiled salmon. Very dark in the glass- Classic CR nose of olives, smoke and bacon with a touch of black fruits. The palate is a little thick and clunky, tasting of rich black fruits- medium length. Very nice wine, no hurry to drink it.
Four and a half glasses
