Domaine Houchart. Cotes de Provence. Rose Avail 3-Days 2010
A rose from Jerome Quiot, Chateauneuf-du-Pape superstar."Bright orange-pink. Orange zest and dried red fruits on the nose, with floral and spice notes adding complexity. The smooth finish offers very good chewy persistence but no excess fat. This has the heft to work with rich foods." Steve Tanzer’s Internation Wine Cellar.*The silky texture and wonderful body makes this perfect for the summer*. _The newly recognized Sainte Victoire appellation (Provence) lies to the east of Aix-en-Provence, at the foot of the Sainte Victoire mountain._[A blend of Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah and Cinsault].
Nice and complex.
I'm really not much of a rose kinda guy, but I have to admit that I enjoyed this for what it is. This wine is quite fruity, with definite notes of strawberry and other red fruits. Purchased for consumption on a hot day (for without food), I initially served this at too low a temperature, resulting in an unpleasant bitterness. As the wine rose to a more appropriate temperature, the nose and taste opened up in a pleasing way, becoming smoother and richer, without losing the simplicity that gives such a wine its mid-summer's day appeal. I probably won't buy again, as I prefer a crisp white on a hot day, but I don't regret having purchased the one bottle.

From an estate thatrsquo;s been in the Quiot family since 1890, this wine is succulent in its sweet strawberry and melon flavors spiced with light pepper and herb notes. It lingers, teasingly. For a smoked-bacon BLT.
Light pink. Dusty, floral-accented aromas of redcurrant, strawberry and rhubarb, with a mineral nuance. Dry, taut and energetic on the palate, offering nervy red berry and citrus flavors that pick up weight and saltiness with air. Quintessential Provenccedil;al roseacute;, with the vivacity to work by itself or with a range of foods.
Shows a pretty salmon color, with melon and strawberry flavors. Spicy notes pervade the finish, which has good length. Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvegrave;dre and others. Drink now.

Therersquo;s lots of melon and spice flavors in this fruity roseacute;, which finishes with notes of pepper and cardamom. Drink now.
Salmon pink-colored wine that has crushed fresh strawberry flavors to go with the dense texture and tannins. Rich, full-bodied.
Bright medium pink. Musky red berries and cherry on the nose, with a light floral quality adding complexity. Spicy redcurrant and wild strawberry flavors are light in body and gently lifted by subtle minerality. An understated style, and well-suited to aperitif duty.
