User Reviews for Domaine Henri Bourgeois Sancerre Blanc 'Le Chene Saint-Etienne' a Selection of Wines Or Other Items France Loire Appellation Sancerre Controlee Sauvignon Blanc

Winemaker's Notes:

Henri Bourgeois is an acclaimed producer whose wines exhibit the complexity of the terroir of Chavignol, being chalky with a touch of gunflint, initially steely, then ripeness in the mouth with a broad array of flavours and wonderful length. Sancerre is one of the most famous white wines in France. Sancerre is also a very beautiful village with a typical castle in the Loire valley. Sancerre white wine is more delicate than close-by Pouilly Fume. Sancerre matures a little bit faster than its neighbor. Although wine tasters need to differentiate the Sancerre wines coming from marl terroir and the ones coming from limestone vineyards. The first are fruity and well balanced, the second are full flavored but less stable. Sancerre is produced in 15 villages. The 'Bourgeois Sancerre 'Le Chene Saint-Etienne' is truly one of the most outstanding white wines to come form this region. A really fine wine with great complexity and a wonderful array of flavours.
