RP: The estate Cotes du Rhone-Villages is always a winner, and the 2006 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Les Champauvins is again a classic example of southern France. It is a pure wine, with notes of garrigue, meat, and sweet kirsch in a medium to full-bodied, ripe, lovely style meant for drinking in its first 4-5 years of life.

Ruby to purple in color, this wine has a nice bouquet of black pepper, blueberry and blackberry. Well-rounded fruit on the palate, though the aftertaste is somewhat limited. Overall, a nice wine at a decent price.
