Domaine Font de Michelle Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2012
This offers up a classic nose of red cherry fruit accented with an Herbes de Provence nose, red candied licorice tones and a savory sun-dried tomato top note. Still youthful on the palate, this really captures the richness and brightness of the vintage with a smooth, slightly dense texture. Though not quite full-bodied, it is packed with sweet red cherry and toasted spice notes that seep out across the rather long finish. Really well balanced with good depth of flavor though if one wanted to nitpick, it does lack some complexity. 92ptsAdd winemaker's notes

paler and the bronziest of the bunch – classic nose, intense blackberry jam, tar, floral, saffron, pollen – big in the mouth still with some tannin to burn, slightly low acidity, mint and tarragon tinged cherry and orange rind fruit in the mouth, finish is a touch tough at first but smoothes out and lengthens with airing, turns tarrier and really developes a citrussy lemon verbena/dried citrus peel top note, fleshes out wonderfully with air. CdP at peak and the best of the bunch tonight

Dark red. Fresh red berry are complemented by notes of dried rose, allspice and anise. Energetic raspberry and cherry flavors gain weight with air, taking a turn to deeper plum and bitter chocolate while maintaining vivacity. Soft tannins add structure and carry through the long, spicy finish. This is drinking well already.
Very ripe, with velvety layers of crushed plum and mulled blackberry fruit interwoven with bittersweet ganache, fruitcake and melted licorice. The long, dense, fleshy finish sails on nicely. Approachable now, thanks to the sleek structure, but better with a touch of cellaring. Best from 2010 through 2025.
High-toned up front, with floral and cherry licorice notes backed by a dash of sandalwood on the slightly dusty finish. Drink now.
A sleeper selection is the sexy 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape. It offers plenty of spice box, fruitcake, and black cherry jam notes along with a creamy texture, and opulent, lush, silky tannins. The vintage’s lack of excessive heat spikes has provided freshness as well as terrific aromatics. Drink it over the next 7–8 years.
An elegant wine, with sweet cherry fruit and high floral notes that set the stage for a lush, silky palate infused with notes of raspberry sorbet and fall leaves. Lingering finish of vanilla and baking spices. Imported by Robert Kacher Imports.
Classic style of Chateau neuf du Pape in a great vintage and a reasonable price. Reserved nose of dark black fruits, cigar box spice, French oak subtleties and a lively acidity. Nice structure to keep the wine living for another 8 to 10 years. Hard to resist now though.
The 1,000 case cuvee of 1999 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée Etienne Gonnet (a blend of 65% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 10% Syrah, and 10% Mourvedre) reveals a saturated dark ruby/garnet color. The nose has intense aromas of blackberry jam intertwined with cherries, garrigue, pepper, and smoke. It is an outstanding effort made in a modern style, but with plenty of the region's typicity. This sexy, full-bodied, layered wine can be drunk now and over the next 12+ years.
