Domaine Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru les Cazetiers 2015

Winemaker's Notes:

"_Sweet Spot!_ _Outstanding!_ Deeply pitched aromas of newly turned earth and animale notes characterize the brooding but notably ripe spiced plum and red berry fruit nose. The rich, full-bodied and tautly muscled flavors exhibit buckets of sappy dry extract that all but disguises the firm tannic spine on the immensely long and explosive finish. Cazetiers doesn't get a whole lot better than this." - Allen Meadows, Burghound *(92-95 Points)*

Sallow and tight on the nose this never really opened though I was able to coax some woodsy notes and a touch of roast meat over the brooding, spicy dusty fruit. A bit innocuous and extracted in the mouth with big acids and tannins but the fruit seem small and shallow. Fine mineral cut and a great dose of Gevrey dirt on the finish are promising but that's all this is at this point. 87pts

Good bright dark red. Reduced rather wild aromas of cherry and mocha. Sweet and thick but a bit youthfully tart owing to firm acidity. Densely packed but disjointed today with saline soil tones dominating the middle palate. Tannins are nicely ripe though. In a reductive phase and hard to assess with accuracy Stephen Tanzers IWC.

Similar to the nose of the Combe d Orveau this is gorgeously complex though the components of it are notably different as here there is more emphasis on earth and a sauvage character to the exceptionally fresh and airy yet deeply pitched aromas. The rich intense and palate saturating flavors possess excellent volume yet fine detail as well as a driving minerality that is buffered by an abundance of dry extract that imparts a seductive character to the hugely long finish. This is a classic Combe Aux Moines that is perhaps slightly less youthfully austere than usual at this early stage. In a word terrific. - Comments: Sweet spot Outstanding. Burghound.

Good deep red. Lovely lift to the aromas of cherry and rose petal. Sweet, suave and juicy, with terrific definition and class to the bright flavors of cherry, minerals, flowers and spices. Silky and stylish. Mounts impressively on the very long f... Stephen Tanzers IWC. A Pinot Noir wine from Burgundy in France. 2010 Faiveley Gevrey Chambertin les Cazetiers Premier Cru 750ml

A seductive style, with sweet spice, sandalwood, floral and cherry aromas and flavors allied to a silky texture. Itandrsquo;s all beautifully balanced and ends with refined, integrated tannins for focus. Excellent length and freshness. Best from 2014 through 2030.

There is a lot of power in this wine. It has great weight and richness and an intense structure. Hanging from the frame of the wine are dark plum fruits, layers of wood, sweet spice, complex acidity and dry tannins. Age for 6ndash;7 years.
