Emmanuel Giboulot emphasizes a biodynamic approach to viticulture across the 10 ha of vineyards he works. The Giboulot reds are generally quite pure and fresh and usually offer fine value but I confess to not finding these '04s to be at the normal quality level. (A Becky Wasserman Selection, Le Serbet, France - sbw@wanadoo.fr; Vinceromos Wines, UK). Very subtle pain grillé highlights airy chardonnay fruit aromas that complement nicely the detailed, pure and solidly intense middle weight flavors that possess good dry extract levels and a sappy, persistence and precise finish. Lovely for what this is.
