Domaine Dupré Mâcon-Villages 2007

Member Review by duncan 906:

I bought this bottle of wine from the website www.bidforwine.co.uk/auctions/show/106203. Macon Villages is an appellation for white wines made of the chardonnay grape from 26 communes in the Maconnais ie the area around the town of Macon in southern Burgundy My bottle comes from a small family owned concern in that area.I started my bottle last night with my supper of fish cakes. It is a dry wine. There is plenty of a melon and peach style fruit with hints of citrus, vanilla and butter. It was a good match for the fishcakes

Domaine Dupré:
The domaine is now run by Jean-Christophe and Vincent Dupre although it was founded as a 3 hectare mixed farm by their grandfather Eugene Dupre in the 1950's.The domaine is now 26 hectares and entirely given over to viticulture.Domaine Dupre is a founder member of the Cave de Mancey co-operative group although they now bottle and market their own wine. They produce a range of red and white[but mainly white ] Burgundy wines
