Domaine Dujac Echezeaux 2015

Winemaker's Notes:

"The 2015 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a sense of brightness on the nose that actually reminded me of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti! There is a sense of effervescence and vibrancy in situ, conveying a wine with a sense of purpose. With time, there is a touch of wilted rose petal complementing the fruit aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe red berry fruit, orange pith and a touch of sea salt. It shows very good length with a very precise finish, a "complete" Echézeaux that does much to impress." - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate *(92-94 Points)*

A discreet touch of wood sets off the spicy black cherry, cassis and floral aromas that slide gracefully into rich, generous and opulent large-scaled flavors that display both excellent volume and fine phenolic maturity of the structural items, all w... Good full red. Red fruits, pepper, stone, spices and a pungent note of sandalwood on the nose. Intensely flavored and stylish, offering a good tight core of dark fruit flavor, enticing sweetness andserious spine. The wines tight tannins will need... Stephen Tanzers IWC. From their single parcel on the Vougeot side of the appellation, the Dujac 2005 Echezeaux leads with aromas of smoked meat, brine and jellied black raspberry. Impressively rich and decidedly sweet and liqueur-like on the palate, it reflects the low y... Robert Parker. A Pinot Noir wine from Burgundy in France. 2005 Domaine Dujac Echezeaux 1500ml

Moderate reduction makes the nose difficult to read beyond ripe black fruit aromas that continue onto the silky and seductively round and velvety flavors that are more forward and accessible than either the Charmes or the Clos St. Denis. Good full, deep red. Musky, decadent aromas of red fruits, flowers, truffle and sweet oak. Concentrated, superripe and broad, with atypical weight for this cuvée. Rather firm and unforthcoming today. Very horizontal on the finish, with fine tannins coating the palate.

While slightly reductive, the 2003 Clos St.-Denis admirably displays its enormous concentration and depth of fruit. Copious quantities of dark berries are intermingled with notes of herbs, licorice, and red cherries in its complex, and lengthy character. Projected maturity: 2008–2017.
