Soft and fruity; reminiscent of an ageing Spanish Tempranillo. Quite a light wine; personal taste being for a more full bodied wine. Very pleasant.

A selection of the finest barrels, the 2003 Syrah The Governor reveals toasty new oak along with abundant blackberry, blueberry, and licorice notes, and hints of camphor and flowers. Full-bodied, dense, and rich, it will benefit from 1-2 more years of bottle age, and should last for a decade or more. Inky purple. Sexy aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, violet and vanilla custard, complicated by spicy oak. Theres big-time oak going on, but also plenty of ripe, luscious dark berry fruit that verges on liqueur-like. Fat, broad and sweet on the finish, the oak spice coming up strong. Theres clearly great material and sex appeal here, and the oak is plenty suave, but Id love to see it ratcheted down a notch. ** Only 1 in Stock **

The 2003 Vina Bosconia has another enticing bouquet: hints of cooked meat, hickory, peat and rosemary that is beautifully defined. The palate is medium-bodied with firm dry tannins and a poised, lifted earthy finish with touches of soy and sea salt on the aftertaste. This deserves several more years in bottle. Drink 2018-2030+.
A nice hue entices you, and the nose is meaty, tight and well oaked. With solid blackberry, dark cherry and chocolate flavors, this old-vines wine delivers the goods and manages to stay on course from start to finish. Almost everything about the wine is solid and commendable, even if it doesnandrsquo;t have the chops of something from the top echelon.
