2007 is one of the best vintages of Napa. This wine is clearly has some potential. However, it is not time yet to drink it. This is one of the wines that you would lay down for 4 to 7 years from now. It is still very tight and is not offering its atmosphere yet. It has a nice good color. On the nose, black fruits are dominating. Blueberry, blackberry, cassis, and dark chocolate. Also there is a little hint of licorice. On the palate, very dry, big, bold, very tannic, a bit bitter finish, a lot of dark chocolate going on, balanced. It is still tight and has not a lot of things to offer right now! This is no way a 94 bottle of wine. Yes, this wine will evolve in the next 4 to 7 years, but I just cannot see how this wine has been give such a very high score! I am 88 on this effort.
Surprisingly complex for an inexpensive wine.
The park steakhouse. Sweet in the beginning and a smooth finish.
You definitely have to let this wine open p a bit. My first initial smell was sweaty socks and really didn't enjoy the wine that much. After I opened up I liked it better but can't see throwing up a 94 ws rating.

Rich, ripe and ready to enjoy, this complex blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (85%) and Cabernet Franc (15%) is a delicious mouthful of wine. Flavors of plum, currant and ripe cherry are joined by chocolate, vanilla and a nice touch of oak. Smooth enough to sip on its own mdash; but save some for the steak.
Always one of the more reasonably priced Meritage wines, Estancia continues to offer very good value. The rsquo;95 has ripe sweet cherry and plum fruit, a lovely velvet texture and soft tannins. it preserves the fresh fruit flavors of the grapes, but doesnrsquo;t candy or simplify them. Not a powerhouse, it will provide delicious drinking on winter nights.
An exotic, spicy array of aromas leads to a velvety texture and ripe cherry, cedar and herb flavors. Tempting to drink now, but it could be cellared until 1993 or so.
Impressively fresh in its black cherry and blueberry flavors, this is texturally generous rather than jammy. And in the tradition of Estancia meritage, it over-delivers for the price. The plump fruit completely fills the dusty tannins of Paso Robles, which keep this unpretentious, and delicious with grilled tri-tip.
Full dense ruby color; a wide array of aromas including black cherry, plum, vanilla, cedar and pine. Full-bodied entry, generous layering of flavors; citrus balances jam, pepper modu- lates chocolate, earth rescues prunes. Tannins for long-term enjoyment, but a hedonistic pleasure now.
Well-charred oak dominates now, with its toasty vanillins, but underneath lurks a very pretty wine. The blackcurrant and cherry flavors are sweetly delicious, and the tannins are soft and lush. This appealing wine is easy to fall in love with. Give it a few years to knit together.
This Bordeaux-style red blend is one of the most reliable of its genre. Grilled steak brushed with garlic and extra virgin olive oil or roast lamb would complement it well.
In 2007 Alexandre has produced an enormously attractive, early-drinking VCCwith even more finesse and balance than usual. The glorious potential of thisBurgundian-styled Vieux Château Certan is obvious from its beguiling, aromatic, pure red fruit nose. On the palate, brilliantly intense plum and raspberryfruit is accompanied by delicate notes of minerals, smoke and toast supportedby firm silky tannins and a long red fruit finish of laser-sharp precision. Itsatypical approachability means that you will be able to enjoy this exquisitelycharming VCC while you wait for the even better 2006 and 2005 to mature.
Appearance: Deep garnet Aroma: Inviting aromas of dark cherry, sage, and red plums. Complex layers of ripe berries, with undertones of vanilla and cloves. Flavors: Full‐bodied and textural, with ripe flavors of black plum and cherry, cocoa and cassis. A concentrated, rich palate with round tannins leads to a long finish interwoven with blackberry, anise and mocha.
Notes: 18 months in small oak barrels, 50% of which were new; 78% French
