Clos du Val stubbornly hews to its traditional style, a dry, tannic and earthy Cabernet with inflections of blackberries and black currants. It's the opposite of the modern style. The alcohol level, for example, is a tender 13.5% by volume. The wine will develop for quite a few years, without becoming profound. - S.H. Characteristic of Clos Du Val's world-class style, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon continues the winery's tradition of producing truly elegant wines of balance and complexity. Its opulent, brooding purple hue is accentuated with aromas of ripe black and purple fruit, black pepper and subtle hints of toast. The palate displays a seamless integration of intense flavors that include chocolate, toffee and blackberry. The wine has a rich yet powerful mouthfeel marked by focused, silky tannins and a long, lingering finish. Expect this Cabernet Sauvignon to age gracefully for an additional 5-10 years. - WineryCOMPOSITION:84% Cabernet Sauvignon7% Merlot6% Cabe...

Shows a flash of matchstick, before giving way to a juicy core of Jonagold apple, anise, starfruit and melon flavors, all backed by green almond and chamomile. Rich but racy on the finish, with excellent drive. Drink now through 2011. 417 cases made. -JM ** Only 2 in Stock **
"The *outstanding Vieux Lazaret 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape* (nearly 30,000 cases produced) offers up lovely black cherry and black currant fruit notes intermixed with cedarwood, licorice and a whiff of Provencal herbs. This deep ruby/purple-tinged wine is a fresh, ripe, full-bodied, classic Chateauneuf du Pape made in a pure, zesty style. It should drink well for 7-10 years."
