A full-bodied yet elegant wine from the Côtes du Rhône town of Rasteau. Dark berried, spicy geranium florals and clay mineral accents yield to a nice supple finish. Great with steak au poivre.

This full-bodied, elegant red blend hails from the Côtes du Rhône town of Rasteau. Clay minerals and spicy floral aromas enhance the dark berry flavors. This wine is great with steak au poivre.

Winemaker's Notes:

80% Grenache, 10% Carignan and 10% Mourvèdre from 60-year-old vines. Not yet reviewed; last review was 91 points by Robert Parker for 2005 vintage: ...exhibits a dense purple color as well as a bouquet of chocolate, black cherry, blackberry, licorice, crushed rock and earth. Full-bodied, powerful, and rich, with sweet tannins (which provide current accessibility), it should evolve easily for 8-10 years.
