The Grassa family farms over 2,400 acres of vines in Gascony, producing both Bas-Armagnac brandy and fine wines.   In the early 1980s, Yves Grassa revolutionized both the family estate and winemaking in the region when he planted non-traditional varieties Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc alongside classic Armagnac grapes Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng. Yves crafted innovative blends including Chenin Blanc-Chardonnay and a co-fermented Sauvignon Blanc-Chardonnay.   The Grassa family prides itself on its revolutionary approach while holding a deep respect for nature’s influence. From the vineyards to the technologically advanced winemaking facility, great measures are taken to ensure the quality and freshness of the finished wines. In the vineyards, they employ sustainable farming methods, including the use of natural fertilizers.   Yves’ sons, Armin and Remy, are the third generation of the Grassa family to lead Domaine du Tariquet. They took over management of the estate from their father in 2008 and have continued the family tradition of excellence and innovation. The brothers share winemaking duties equally, working as partners in the cellar. @font-face { font-family: "Times"; }@font-face { font-family: "Verdana"; }p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal { margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Times New Roman"; }div.Section1 { page: Section1; } @font-face { font-family: "Times"; }@font-face { font-family: "Verdana"; }p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal { margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Times New Roman"; }div.Section1 { page: Section1; } @font-face { font-family: "Times"; }@font-face { font-family: "Verdana"; }p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal { margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Times New Roman"; }div.Section1 { page: Section1; } Read less

A crisp Sauvignon Blanc with intense flavors of gooseberries and a lovely grassiness more typically found in Sauvignon Blancs twice the price. Great with salads or seafood.

Tasting Notes - A crisp and fruity (citrus, melon and peach) Sauvignon Blanc from the Southwest region of France. A distinctive bouquet with fine intense floral notes, some minerality, and the underlying suggestion of ripe grapes. Fresh and refined with an attractive intensity. A fine expression of Sauvignon Blanc, this wine is a delight. Quality grapes and a winemakers expert touch combined to reach new heights. The wine is full of fruit and refreshing on its own or with food; it is easy to see why Robert Parker called Yves one of the most talented winemakers of southern France.

Tasting Notes:

‘In the past, all that mattered was the wine making process but over the years, we have gradually learned to make wine that is an honest expression of the vineyard.’ Yves Grassa, winemaker. Superbly intense for a dry fruity white, its bouquet reveals floral and citrus aromas with nice touches of tropical fruit. Light and well-balanced, this wine is a thirst-quenching pleasure.

Should be stored upright, in a cool dark place. To enjoy its full potential, drink within one year of bottling.
