Domaine du Bouscat "La Gargone " Bordeaux Supérieur 2009

External Review by JJ Buckley Fine Wines:

Black licorice and mineral on the nose. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and a fruity finish. Balanced and silky. But turns just a tad chewy. Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Bouscat 750ml

(15% alcohol on the label): Full ruby-red. Rich, ripe aromas of blackberry liqueur, black raspberry, cassis and chocolate. Thick and sweet but with shape and energy too. Dense dark berry flavors are complicated by bitter chocolate and mint. Fini... Stephen Tanzers IWC. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Bouscat Cuvee La Gargone 750ml

The 2009 La Gargone, which was cropped at 25 hectoliters per hectare, and is a blend of 60% Merlot, 20% Malbec, 18% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, is a real blockbuster style of wine with remarkably high alcohol at 15.8%. Of course,... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Bouscat Cuvee Gargon 750ml

Slightly lower key (only 15.4% natural alcohol) is the 2009 Les Portes de l'Am, a blend from Bouscat's best vineyard parcel consisting of 50% Merlot and the rest equal parts Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Densely opaque purple, with notes of incense, aca... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Bouscat Les Portes de lAme 750ml

This is impressive, with masses of fruit and huge body. Velvety and gorgeous. 50 percent Merlot, 25 percent Malbec and 25 percent Cabernet Franc. Same bottle as Pavie. Ha ha. Serious. This is the best Merlot and everything else from here. Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Bouscat Les Portes de l'Ame 750ml

The remarkable 2009 Bouscat La Gargone, which is even better from bottle than it was from barrel, is a blend of 60% Merlot, 20% Malbec, 18% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Consultant Claude Gros certainly got things right, as this tips the ... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Bouscat Cuvee La Gargone 750ml

Opaque purple core with a brighter fuchsia rim. Melted licorice, incense, and dark chocolate combine with bright red fruit and aromas of purple flowers on the nose. Medium to full bodied, with an appealing creamy texture, this offers loads of red fru... Geoffrey Binder. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Bouscat Cuvee La Gargone 750ml
