Domaine Drouhin has been on the viticultural cutting edge in Oregon since our first plantings, and we continue to set the pace. The 90 acres of hillside vineyards that ribbon our 225-acre estate are at the very heart of Domaine Drouhin wines. Philippe Drouhin is in charge of all of the estate vineyards in Oregon & Burgundy & it is his vision & passion that drives our advances & improvements in winegrowing year after year. Situated atop the Dundee Hills, between 400 and 800 feet in elevation, our site was selected for its remarkable similarity in climate, latitude and aspect to the legendary vineyards of Burgundy. DDO places more emphasis on viticulture than most producers in America. Our vines are perhaps the most densely-planted in the New World, with an average of 3,300 plants to the acre. We are also one of the few vineyards in the country to cultivate our own rootstocks and propagate all of our own plant materials. This allows us to further our vineyards with site specific rootstocks and plants. Read less

Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Vibrant aromas of candied cherry with touches of red currant and red berry and spice. Great mid palate. Finishes a tad sour and dry. - Tasted at winery 8/17/10

Drouhin's Laurene Pinot Noir from Oregon is a fine example of old world wine making style applied to the New World. Lots of layered aromatics and excellent palate feel are hallmarks of this luxury cuvee.

Bright and sleek, offering pretty blackberry and red plum flavors that stay intense as the finish lingers effortlessly, with chocolate complexity, against refined tannins. Drink now through 2019. -HS Wine Spectator. A Pinot Noir wine from Oregon in USA. 2009 Drouhin, Domaine Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Laurene 750ml

The Domaine Drouhin 2009 Pinot Noir Laurene delivers rich dark cherry and plum fruit its persistent but in no way superficial sweetness wreathed in bitter-sweet floral perfume and allied to a vaguely stony undertone. Almost velvety in texture this nonetheless finishes with a grip that implies abundant if fine tannins. It doesn t - indeed given its vintage almost surely couldn t - approach the infectious sheer primary juiciness of the corresponding 2010; nor does it strike me for now as being any more complex than the highly impressive (and much less expensive) "classique" (i.e. Drouhin s principal bottling). But it s surely worth following for at least half a dozen years during which time it might well reveal its superiority. "You had to be really cautious with extraction in this vintage " notes Bell of 2009 "because there was a lot of dry skin material in the cap." -David Schildknecht Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
