Domaine Drouhin Oregon Chardonny Arthur 2009
The 2009 Arthur has surprised me in so many ways. I expected it to be more like 2006 because of the similar heat accumulation through the year. But it seems that 2009 takes the best of 2006 (ripe, lush, round fruit) and the best of 2008 (bright acidity and sharp structure), and combines them in a most enjoyable way. The gently honeyed texture and trademark range of white flower aromatics is delicious. Enjoy now and for the next several years!
Editorial Reviews for Domaine Drouhin Oregon Chardonny Arthur
Subtle and layered on the nose with an initial whiff of fresh oak fleshing out and gaining spice notes along with bright white fruit aromas. In the mouth this is elegance and well balanced it just glides across the palate with gently creamy and spicy oak influences adding support to the ripe pear and pineapple fruits that remain crisp in the mouth and through the rather lush and creamy finish. A bit much for my palate but really a fine showing in this style. powerful yet restrained. 91pts
