Domaine Drouhin Arthur Chardonnay 2012
Not yet reviewed; 2011 vintage rated 89 points by Wine Advocate: ...incorporates both tank- and barrel-; malo- and non-malo-elevage... delightfully scented with fresh lime, apple, and pineapple, which go on to inform a juicy and bright yet lees-enriched and subtly silken palate... Hints of chalk and iodine add interest to a sustained, slightly tart, and refreshing finish. This could well be more harmonious and complete in another year and ought to drink well for several.
One of the best chardonnay's in the mid $30 ($35 at the winery) range we've had. Creamy lemon pith, a slight touch of oak, a bit of minerality, wonderful smooth tongue coating mouthfeel, decent amount of acidity and a medium to long finish.
