What to Expect

Pinot Noir: Responsible for some of the greatest wines on earth - the exhausted red wines of France's Burgundy region. Pinot Noir is a notoriously fickle grape that expresses its origins like no other. It's a vine that needs to struggle to produce great wines but when it does the depth of flavors that range from cherry to cola can be explosive and the wines' bright acidity and gentle tannins make them approachable and widely appealing,

Winemakers Notes

From this vintage onwards, Thierry has incorporated the fruit from vines thatare 30-years-old or older to give an extra kernel of concentration to what is abeautifully harmonious wine. Drink from 2015.

Reviews

Good medium red. Rich, deep aromas of dark fruits, baking spices, chocolate, roasted herbs and minerals. Big, lush, creamy and consistent; quite full in the middle for a 2004. Supple, rich and ripe, finishing with very fine tannins and terrific subtle persistence. Barrel Tasting: 90-93 Points. -International Wine Cellar

"A terrific 2004, with loads of sweet black cherry, raspberry, rose and sandalwood notes. As this intensifies across the palate, the mineral element becomes evident. The structure is well-integrated, and this ends with freshness. Best from 2009 through 2022...93." WS 7/07

This vintage is the most true to terroir, and with the best long-term aging, will flourish. The value is incomparable among Grand Cru red Burgundy. On the palate, it's showing earth and game notes. One of those Pinot Noirs that makes traditional palates weep with joy.
