Baumard's 2004 Coteaux Du Layon Carte D'Or offers an astonishingly low-priced opportunity to experience a great nobly sweet appellation. Winsome aromas of quince, chamomile, almond paste, and white chocolate lead to a subtly sweet, mouth-filling, yet elegant and juicy palate and a bitter-sweet, quince- and flower-filled, honeyed, subtly confectionary yet genuinely refreshing finish. This should drink well for at least 8-10 years. Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate 90 Points Lots of mineral and candied lime hold the fig and glazed pear flavors at bay.
