Domaine de Mourchon Côtes du Rhone Villages Séguret Tradition 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

A deep garnet red colour with well-blended fruit aromas of raspberry and blackberry and a hint of liquorice on a spicy background. The palate is both velvety and generous with supple fruit. This wine can be enjoyed with roasted vegetables, bar- b-ques, slow cooked beef dishes, traditional coq-au-vin or roasted cod with red wine sauce.

My parents brought me back a this bottle after visiting the vineyard during their trip to France. They said it was a wonderful place with pleasant people in the heart of Côtes du Rhône, but very near Chateauneuf du Pape. Beautiful crimson red on the pour with a wonderful aroma of red berries. Hints of cherry with a background of peppery tannins expected from the terroir of the area. A wonderful estate with a great product. Currently looking for the 2006 vintage to try and review...

Fleshy and smoky, with enticing mesquite, tobacco and iron notes weaving through the large core of fig and blackberry fruit. The long, smoldering finish has some serious grip in reserve. Grenache, Syrah and Carignan. Drink now through 2013. 2,500 cas... Wine Spectator. The 2009 Seguret Tradition (65% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 10% Carignan) exhibits vivid aromas of black cherries, Provencal herbs, and garrigue. It cuts a bigger swath across the palate than the 2008 and reveals more glycerin and density. Enjoy this hig... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. A beautiful Rhone blend of 65% grenache, 25% syrah and 10% carignan. Dark violet color. The nose offers notes of raspberry, pomegranate and fig. On the palate, this Mourchon is medium to full bodied with a beautiful balance between the acid, glycerin... John Koutsulis. As for the 2009 Cotes du Rhones, which are all in bottle, the 2009 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Seguret Tradition has a dark ruby color and the telltale kirsch liqueur with some earthy and loamy soil notes in the background, as well as hints of pepper and... A smoking blend of roughly 65% Grenache, 25% Syrah, and 10% Carignan that just screams southern France, the 2007 Domaine de Mourchon Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret Tradition, aged all in unlined concrete casks, has beautifully perfumed aromatics of ... Spicy, brambly fruit dominates the nose and continues onto the palate, along with hints of nutmeg and bouquet garni. The experience is transportive-evoking a summer scene in Southern France.
