Certainly up there with, and possibly eclipsing the '09, the 2010 Domaine de Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape, tasted from multiple lots, should be a fuller, richer version of the '09 with more dark fruits, garrigue, and floral characteristics, full body,... The 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape (74% Grenache, 14% Mourvedre, 9% Syrah and 3% Cinsault aged two-thirds in cement tanks and one-third in wood foudres) has a dense ruby/purple color, a sweet nose of floral-infused blueberry liqueur, a striking minerality,... Bright purple. High-pitched aromas of black raspberry, candied flowers and spicecake, with a mineral overtone. Juicy, focused and pure, offering tangy red and dark berry flavors that turn spicier with air. Finishes with impressive energy and cut, ... Stephen Tanzers IWC. Ripe and winey, with a solid core of mulled currant, crushed raspberry and bramble notes laced with hints of ganache, incense and black tea. The finish is long, solid and authoritative. Should blossom in the cellar. Best from 2010 through 2020. 2,050... Wine Spectator. A Proprietary Blend wine from Rhone in France. 2007 Domaine de Marcoux Chateauneuf du Pape 750ml

This is a classic and potentially long-lived Marcoux that should drink well for 15 or more years...91-93" WA 10/11 "The 2010 Domaine de Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a rough blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre, 7% Syrah, and 3% Cinsault that is aged mostly in concrete tank, is a classic 2010 that exhibits gorgeous aromas of black raspberry, saddle leather, sappy garrigue, and licorice qualities on the nose. Perfumed, rich, and sweetly fruited, this has a surprisingly structured, focused feel on the palate, with excellent concentration, plenty of tannin, and a lengthy finish. It will be a long-lived Châteauneuf-du-Pape that needs 3-4 years of bottle age, and will shine for 15+....95+" RR 10/12
