Rustic Rhocirc;ne blend. Crushed fruits, must, and pepper flavor this solid, medium bodied red.

Revealing a denser, ruby/purple color, the 1999 Cocirc;tes du Rhocirc;ne Villages Cairanne exhibits more blackberry, plum and cherry fruit. It is medium to full-bodied, sweet, velvety-textured, and capable of lasting 5ndash;6 years.

A rigorous selection eliminates all but the best wines for the Cocirc;tes du Rhocirc;ne Cairanne cuveacute;e. Rich and full bodied on the palate, this is a wine best paired with a hearty winter stew or roasted meat.

From the much-anticipated 2009 vintage this is a benchmark for a great under-$20 Rhône. Lush and soft but with great earth and spice notes to balance the deep black fruit. Though excellent now it has the structure to stand up for several years so don’t be afraid to pick up a case.

Provenccedil;al herbs and earth tones swirl around ripe black and blueberry fruits with long and winding flavors. A touch of black pepper highlights a smooth, satisfying finish.

Flavorful, spicy, a wonderful little Rhocirc;ne red packed with black fruit and black pepper. A balanced, medium-bodied, intense wine that takes off on the explosive palate. Drink now through 2001.
