Rating: 18/20 - As reviewed by Jancis Robinson Ascent is Terre Rouge's top Syrah bottling and only eight barrels were made in 1999. It's a blend of the best fruit from their various sites and was matured in 80 per cent new oak. It is certainly extremely refined, very suave, lighter and more fragrant than the Kongsgaard Syrah. Very, very deep. Lively nose. Round, gentle and easy.
