Domaine de la Solitude Chateauneuf du Pape 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): Bright ruby. Youthful, spice-accented aromas and flavors of cherry and dark berries, with a floral pastille element gaining power with air. Taut and linear on the slightly reduced finish. (Jan/Feb 2013)

Domaine de la Solitude:
The vinyard was first cultivated by the Barbarini family in the 14th century. The Barbarini's by then were wine makers of the pope that had moved to Avignon. The current owners mother is the last Barbarini alive. Expect a warm welcome in the simple tasting room. The Lancon brothers and their winemaker are very knowledgeable and speak English.
