- "The 2003 Lirac Cuvee de la Reine des Bois, is a blend of equal parts Mourvedre, Syrah, and Grenache. The estates largest production cuvee (40,000 bottles), portions of it spend time in foudre, tank, and barrel and are then blended together. Sensational efforts have been produced in top vintages. For example, the 1998 (which is just hitting its full stride) has consistently merited between 93 and 94 points. At this price, thats amazing! The 2003 is another brilliant effort boasting a dense ruby/purple color in addition to a big, sweet perfume of framboise, kirsch, licorice, and notions read more...of spice as well as underbrush.
