Winemaker's Notes:

This vintage comes from four parcels located in different soils which perfectly match during assembly : a « southern » pebbly soil brings fat and power, a Chaupin-like soil for freshness and acidity, a red clay pebbly soil (but very late picked because located to the north of the appellation) brings structure and body, and finally a sandy-limestone soil for smoothness. Grapes had an extraordinary concentration with mature skins which, as on Chaupin soil, have benefited from september optimal climate conditions. The result is a very large crimson red wine with cramped but smooth tannins, a nice balance, as well as black fruits and liquorice flavor. A bottle which can be kept for very long time. Grape variety: 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 3% Mourvèdre, 2% various Stems removal: 80 % Maceration: 28 days Manual must pressing: once a day Vines age : 60 à 100 ans Elevage : 25% barrels (40% new), 75% vat. Tasting: color: ink , crimson flavors: fruits, licorice Rich and mighty, very youth and of a 'great accura
