A beautiful, clean and minerally Loire Valley Chardonnay. Bright, straw-gold in color with alluring, slow legs on the glass. Impressive complexity and depth for the price range - I would love to blind taste this wine against Chardonnays at three times the price. Perfectly balanced, loaded with pear and stone, the finish goes on and on with a delicious lemony custard component. Absolutely a bargain.

This crisp, elegant unoaked Chardonnay from the Loire Valley has been a staff favorite for several vintages now, and the 2007 is no exception! An easy transition for Chablis drinkers, as the Hallopierre reflects the same refreshing tropical fruit flavors, mouthwatering, food-friendly acidity and flinty mineral base that made those Burgundies famous.

From the banks of the Loire River comes a true example of French Chardonnay, a smooth, full-bodied wine with subtle hints of freshly cut grass and apple. The ripeness of the grapes is evident on the nose, as aromas of fresh fruit and hay suggest the golden lightness of a summer's afternoon. The finish is crisp and well-balanced.
