Domaine de la Désoucherie Cheverny 2015

Member Review by duncan 906:

I bought this bottle of wine from a shop in London's Kensington [www.nicolas.com ] Cheverny is an appellation created in 1993 [although viticulture here goes back centuries] for red, rose, white and sparkling wines [though most are white ] from 24 communes between the Loire and Cher rivers south of the town of Blois.Domaine de la Desoucherie is a small family owned producer in this area.My bottle is a blend of 80% pinot noir and 20% gamay.I started my bottle last night with my supper of bacon pasta bake. My initial impresion was of how soft and smooth it was although there was good structure. There was also plenty of a cherry and raspberry style fruit. In short this is a lovely wine that would pair nicely with many foods

The sustainable cultivation employed on the whole of the vineyard carries on the tradition towards only one aim: irreproachable quality recognized by all. Located on the highest hill of the commune of Cour-Cheverny and of a superficy of abount 25 hectares, the vineyard of la Desoucherie enjoying a good exposure on a silica and clay soil with little flints on the surface produces excellent wines in three denominations.
