A blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre and 15% Syrah, all aged in tank, the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape reveals a deep ruby color as well as notes of licorice, cherry liqueur, herbs and spice. Medium to full-bodied, round, generous and already seductive... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. Dark and winey, with a big core of cassis, plum eau-de-vie and fig sauce notes carried by sleek, rounded structure. The long finish lets the fruit drip while hints of pastis and violet weave in. Approachable now, but can be cellared mid-term as well.... Wine Spectator. A Proprietary Blend wine from Rhone in France. 2009 Domaine de la Charbonniere Chateauneuf du Pape 1500ml

The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Hautes Brusquieres Cuvee Speciale comes from a lieu-dit in the northwestern sector of the appellation. Made in a completely different style, this blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah, aged primarily in wood cuves, and ... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. The dark ruby 2009 Les Hautes Brusquieres Cuvee Speciale (a blend of 60% Grenache and a whopping 40% Syrah, with the Grenache aged in foudres and the Syrah in small oak) has a full-bodied mouthfeel with loads of glycerin. (I am sure the alcohol is 15... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. Bright purple. An expressive, smoky bouquet evokes candied blackberry and cherry, with notes of rose oil and allspice coming up with air. Sappy, sweet dark fruit compote flavors show a refreshingly bitter quality that buffers the sweetness and adds a... Stephen Tanzers IWC. A fleshy, mouthfilling style, with ample layers of plum, fig, anise and boysenberry preserves, laced with bittersweet ganache and maduro tobacco on the finish. Very solid, with latent grip. Best from 2012 through 2020. -JM Wine Spectator. A Proprietary Blend wine from Rhone in France. 2009 Domaine de la Charbonniere Chateauneuf du Pape les Hautes Brusquieres Cuvee Speciale 750ml

Tasting Notes:

This is an atypical cuvee in terms of its complexity of aromas: deep spice, black fruit flavors and chocolate notes are overlaid with leather and a wild complexity.

2009 Domaine de la Charbonniere Chateauneuf du Pape les Hautes Brusquieres Cuvee Speciale 750ml

Notes: Ageing continues in big oak tanks and vats for up to 12-18 months depending on the vintage.
