Domaine de la Charbonnière Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Spéciale les Hautes Brusquières 2004
Made from 70% Grenache, with the balance shared equally between Syrah andMourvèdre, this is an exemplar of good Châteauneuf: fleshy, rich and generousof fruit and flavour, with plenty of grip and a potential to improve for up tofive years. A very complete package from a domaine which is now firmlyimplanted in the premier league.

Interesting but young. No detailed notes but looking forward to the other 2 btls
tasted on: 11.08.2007 The cuvee Mourre des Pedrix 2004 offers a good quality/price relation. Son of a balanced year, after the excesses of 2003, the CNP Mourre des Pedrix is a medium/full-bodied wine, needing decantation in this stage but already showing a good balance between all elements. Fairly complex and constantly envolving in the glass it gave away clean fruit, typical garrique notes and some dried herbs. Very silky, low acidity with resolved tannins....even so it will drink well for the next 6-8 years, at least. Pack it up folks.....
