is a blend of Grenache (80%), Cinsault (10%), Syrah (5%) and Carignan (5%) from 25 year old vines.
A beautiful, bright cherry red colored wine with an interesting nose of black cherry fruit from the Grenache. It is well-balanced and fruity with flavors of blackcurrant and raspberry jam leading up to a complex finish. A great summer wine, Côtes du Rhône is ideal with stronger meat dishes like sausages or pepper steak, Shepard’s pie, casseroles, sandwiches and grilled meats. Good to drink now through the end of 2008.

Their 95 acres of vineyards, in the heart of the Côtes du Rhône region have produced wine since the Roman period.
Côtes du Rhône produces some of the most popular (and most affordable) French wines. These wines are based on the dark and peppery Grenache grape with smaller amounts of the smoky, spicy Syrah, the blackberry-flavored Mourvédre, and the full-bodied Cinsault grapes added to the blend. The vast majority of Côtes du Rhône wines come from large producers or brands that buy grapes from many different growers of varying quality. The best wines, however, come from small producers like Domaine des Coteaux des Travers with vineyards in the better villages like Rasteau, Cairanne, and Beaumes-de-Venise.
