Domaine de Font-Sane Domaine de Font-Sane Tradition Gigondas 2007
Nose of sweet red fruit (plum and currant). In the mouth red fruit, fresh loam, and a hint of coffee or smoke with smooth, drying, chewy tannins and medium consistent acid. Finishes with a bit of wood and continuation of flavors from mid-palate. Very good taste. Excellent balance and good integration.

One of the finest Gigondas estates, the 1992 exhibits a surprising amount of purple in its color (itrsquo;s one of the darkest wines of the vintage), admirable ripeness, medium body, moderate tannin, and a rich, chewy finish. It requires 1ndash;2 years of cellaring and should keep for 10ndash;12 years. Unquestionably this is a top success for the vintage.
Opaque ruby. Smoky nose features blackberry, licorice, lavender and herbs. Firm and intense, with impressive sweetness to the chewy dark berry and bitter cherry flavors. Tannins arrive late and add back-end grip. I like the mix of high- and low-pitched fruit notes on the broad, assertive finish. This one's built to age.
The deep ruby/plum/purple-tinged 2007 Gigondas Tradition reveals sweet raspberry and black cherry fruit intermixed with notions of flowers, cedar, garrigue, pepper, and crushed rocks. This full-bodied, lush Gigondas should drink nicely for a decade.
Medium red. Extravagant nose combines roasted redcurrant, milk chocolate, smoke and some sauvage animal notes. Silky, lush and ripe, with insidious flavor intensity. Purer in the mouth than on the nose, thanks to harmonious acids and lively notes of pepper and herbs. Finishes sweet and persistent, with fine, ripe tannins.
