Food Pairings for Domaine de Cristia Côtes du Rhône
Well-decanted bottle ... improved markedly after a day vacu-corked in the fridge ... nose had distinctive thyme and tarragon. In the mouth had smooth strong plum and berry fruit, medium acid and tannin. Balanced and well-integrated elements with a finish featuring licorice, hints of mocha, citrus, leather, and nut oil. A classic CdR, yum.
Tested from a preservation machine. Balanced nose of perfumed fruit with tart and herbal notes. Clean, elegant, balanced, well-integrated deep somewhat smoky fruit (strawberry, black cherry, raspberry, blackberry, detectable in varying proportions) that leans to the savory and is joined by slightly bitter nut oil, licorice, stone, thyme, and tarragon. On the finish everything from the palate fades together in good balance, very nice. Dry. Body medium plus, acid medium, tannin medium plus. I like these kind of wines, and they hold up vacu-corked in the fridge for several days, often peaking on day 3.
Very similar in style to the Grenache - an inherent, smooth richness that makes for high 'drinkability'. More spice on the flavour but a little lighter in style with a longer lasting flavour. Spicy, leathery touches - another good sign of a perfect roast lamb match. Lovely flavours of red fruits mixed with blackberries, elderberry, a leatheriness, a strawberry edge and a dusting of spice http://www.spittoon.biz/domaine_cristia_from_naked_win.html

A beautiful wine, the fleshy, concentrated 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as copious incense, black currant, cherry, damp earth and forest floor notes. This full-bodied 2010 can be drunk now or cellared for another 10andndash;15 years.
Bright ruby. Exotic, smoke-accented aromas of raspberry, cherry and potpourri, with Asian spice adding complexity. Juicy, penetrating red and dark berry flavors show very good energy and appealing sweetness, with tangy acidity adding lift. Finishes seamless and long, with very good clarity and lingering spiciness.
Domaine de Cristia Tradition Chateauneuf-Du-Pape is quite exceptional in the 2010 vintage. Gorgeous structure with deft balance between fruit character, spice, and minerality.
A very juicy, unctuous, fruit-driven style, with flattering plum, warm linzer torte and boysenberry fruit melded together and backed by lively anise and sweet spice notes. There's a good sappy feel through the finish. For fans of the not-shy style. Drink now through 2023.
A blend of 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah that s aged all in tank the 2009 Domaine de Cristia Chbteauneuf-du-Pape is an outstanding wine that has an upfront round fleshy profile as well as plenty of southern Rhtne typicity. Showing loads of concentrated ripe blackberry spice herbs de Provence and subtle tar and chocolate aromas and flavors this medium to full-bodied wine possesses a supple feel good freshness and plenty of length on the finish. It should continue to shine over the coming 8-10 years. Rhone Report The.
