Domaine de Cristia Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2015

External Review:

Beautiful red-ruby robe. Perfume of cinnamon and vanilla, mixed with hints of red fruits. Very soft tannins, with the same aromas as for the nose with an after taste of liquorice and blond tobacco.

RED WINES The grapes are selected in the vineyard, then destemmed before being put into vats. Three weeks of fermentation and maceration in concrete vats follow, with the use of indigenous yeasts. Temperatures are kept low in order to produce aromatic wines. We do not insist on any massive extraction, but prefer the ‘matiere’ to express itself. (Due to the way we work in the vineyards, the grapes possess enough concentration). The pressed juice and free-run juice are blended together according to the vintage. Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines are aged in concrete vats and barrels for 18 months. Côtes-du-Rhône and Vin de Pays are aged only in concrete vats for 8 to 12 months. WHITE WINES The grapes are selected and pressed very quickly. They are fermented and aged for 8 months in a combination of barrels and stainless steel vats. Read less

A flashy style, with red licorice and warm fruitcake notes backed by flavors of plum sauce and boysenberry preserves. Singed apple wood and licorice details fuel the finish. Best from 2015 through 2025. 2,665 cases made.

Cristia’s 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape is a classic example of this cuvée and offers loads of upfront fruit, texture and richness in its fruity, ripe style. Giving up plenty of darker fruits, old leather and damp herbs, enjoy this medium to full-bodied beauty over the coming 7–8 years.

A very juicy, unctuous, fruit-driven style, with flattering plum, warm linzer torte and boysenberry fruit melded together and backed by lively anise and sweet spice notes. There's a good sappy feel through the finish. For fans of the not-shy style. Drink now through 2023.

Domaine de Cristia Tradition Chateauneuf-Du-Pape is quite exceptional in the 2010 vintage. Gorgeous structure with deft balance between fruit character, spice, and minerality.

A beautiful wine, the fleshy, concentrated 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as copious incense, black currant, cherry, damp earth and forest floor notes. This full-bodied 2010 can be drunk now or cellared for another 10andndash;15 years.
