Domaine de Chevalier Blanc Cru Classé de Graves Bordeaux Pessac-Léognan France Un Nez Original ... Vin Charmeur ! 2004
Olivier Bernard has crafted two of the wines of the vintage: Domaine de
Chevalier's Rouge and Blanc. By reducing his crop through rigorous green
harvesting and later removing leaves to expose the grapes to the Indian
summer's sun, he provided winemaker Stéphane Derenoncourt with the perfect
ingredient with which to work. Their red wine exhibits intoxicating Graves
minerality and terroir with a ripe black fruit core. The very long finish
suggests that a little patience will be required for this wine, but it
undoubtedly rivals wines at four times its price.
