Stunning. Pours a nice golden colour but has richness you would expect from White Burgundy. The freshness of the Sauvignon Blanc added with the sweetness of Semillon is beautiful with subtle hints of peach, melon and apple.

The Domaine de Chevalier has long occupied a hard-won place at the very top of the quality pyramid in Bordeaux. The 2007 is intense, concentrated, and very tightly wound at this point. It displays refreshing orange peel, wet stone and apple flavors couched in caramel and vanilla notes from toasty new oak. Will benefit greatly from 10-20 years in the cellar.

After producing a great 2006 Chevalier 2007 is the star of the white wines from Pessac-Leognan this year. The color is a yellow pale and the nose is impressive. Fine and subtle it offers aromas never found before at this estate. Floral characteristics of rose hint of citrus spices and pepper. It is both fresh and dense at the same time. Beautiful silky entry on the palate. Then it starts melting like it has never done before. This smoothness is absolutely remarkable. After the mid-palate it finds back a more classic tasting profile becoming vivid sappy powerful spicy and finishing tasty with lots of depth. Great length. Jean-Marc Quarin - www.quarin.com

Winemaker's Notes:

An explosive nose of pineapple, grapefruit and slight citrus overtonesheralds the spiced pears and pineapple which continue on to the powerful yetrefined palate, with a precise balance of acidity. The finish lasts at least 10minutes and no doubt this wine will go on for at least a decade... What morecan a wine offer? This truly is one of the finest dry whites I have tasted in along time and if you don't have a case, or two, in your cellar, I wouldstrongly advise you pick one up before they sell out.
