Robert Parker 92 Points GOLD MEDAL - IWSC 2011 SILVER MEDAL - Decanter 2010 Domaine Courbis dates from the 16th century and has been handed down from father to son since the start of the 20th century. The vineyards currently extend to 20 hectares (3Ha in Cornas, 13Ha Saint Joseph red) in the communes of Châteaubourg and Cornas. 18 hectares are planted on hillsides facing south and west. The wine cellar, built in 1980, is modern and is equipped temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wines of courbis are extremely high quality and are commanded all over the world Grapes : Syrah 100% Region : France / Rhône Maker : Laurent Courbis Notes : The epitome of fine Cornas showing chocolate and great fruit intensity with a silky suppleness on the palate and integrated new oak flavours, combining power with elegance. Serve : At room temperature to accompany game and mature cheese. ABV : 13.5%

The average yield is of 35 hl (hectolitres) per hectare. The grapes are hand picked and brought to the cellar, where they are fermented, after an uncompromising selection. The winemaking remain quitre traditional, it's techniques passed on from generation to generation, lending the wines of the domaine their specific, well received style. Read less
