Equal parts of Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc and Clairette, this white Chateauneuf-du-Pape is one of the most interesting wines out there. Aromas of fruit cocktail and Provençal spice waft up from the glass and lead you to the bright flavors of green melon and pineapple. The wine has a steely, zesty and refreshing finish and is a little tight - you might want to let it breathe for a while, and that tightness will soften and make the wine rounder. Great wine for shellfish or roasted chicken with a Provence spice rub. Pick it up before it is all gone.
From the award-winning producer of amazing value red Chateauneuf du Papes comes this stunning, brilliant, fleshy white. Comprised of classic Rhone varietals: 25% Clairette, 25% Roussanne, 25% Bourboulenc, 25% Grenache Blanc. Incredibly aromatic, with lively acidity and complex, well-integrated floral, mineral and fruit flavors. When you want "something special," this is the wine you are looking for.
Pure, with alluring acacia, honeysuckle, yellow apple and melon flavors that glide through the long, stylish finish. Delicious. Drink now through 2010.
Any fan of white Burgundy or high-quality California Viognier should definitely appreciate the depth and complexity of this full-flavored, elegant white from the southern Rhône valley. Beautiful white fruits and floral notes waft from the glass, and the drinker is treated to a lush array of peach, melon, starfruit and honeysuckle on the tongue. Vibrant, with a round, palate-coating texture and a finish that goes on and on. This is one of my favorite white wines and I would never hesitate to recommend it to someone who was looking for a nice white for a gift or a special dinner.
