User Reviews for Domaine Chanson Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny Premier Cru En Primeur

Winemaker's Notes:

This wine is available for EN PRIMEUR purchase ONLY. With a history dating back to 1750, this fine Domaine was founded during the reign of Louis XV. When the Chanson family took full control in the 1800s, they already had substantial holdings in Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune and Pernand-Vergelesses, which they added to the business. Ownership of some of the top Premiers and Grands Crus vineyards in Burgundy remains a priority for the house. Their 45 hectare Domaine is managed by Gilles de Courcel and his experienced, dedicated team. Winemaker Jean-Pierre Confuron of the celebrated Vosne-Romanée dynasty continues to improve quality selection of fruit and the refurbished Bastion de l’Oratoire in Beaune is now home to a state of the art fermentation room as well as being the perfect environment for gentle maturation of their crus.Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny shows pale gold with fragrances of lime blossom mixed with citrus fruit and honey with a hint of minerality. This wine is fabulously elegant, well-structured and well-balanced. It has very good acidity and well-integrated minerality and subtle oak notes and finishes with very good persistence. This Chardonnay is definately something a bit special so pair with fine, rich foods such as fois gras, fresh seafood and creamy cheeses.
